Team and access
Invitations and removing access
How people join a project: the invitation, its expiry, resending and revoking it, and suspending a member.
An account is not access to a project
Anyone can create a FoodProt AI account, but a new account belongs to no project. Access to a project comes only from an invitation by one of its owners. Nobody can add themselves.
If you invite an address that has no account yet, the person sets a password from the e-mail link and joins the project when they sign in.
What an invitation records
An invitation records the e-mail address, the role the owner chose, who sent it, its status and when it expires. The role is chosen by the owner when inviting, not by the person accepting.
The invitation is accepted when the person signs in with the invited e-mail address, whether they follow the link or sign in later.
Expiry, resend and revoke
An invitation expires after 14 days. A pending invitation can be resent, which restarts the 14 days, or revoked, which withdraws it. A revoked invitation cannot be resent; invite the person again if they should have access after all.
Seeing everything at once
The Team page outside any project lists everyone in the projects you belong to, with their role in each. The Invitations page lists the invitations for projects you own and lets you resend or revoke them.
Both pages show only what you could already see project by project. New invitations and role changes are made on the project’s own Team page.
Suspending a member
To withdraw access, suspend the member. A suspended member loses access to the project at once, and the record of their earlier work stays intact.
Remove a membership only when it was created by mistake, because removal also removes the record that the person had access.
